Automobiles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police reported they were contacted by a individual who found a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say preliminary tests show the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure commented the vandalism left him speechless and had to be solved quickly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
