Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years following their departure for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
