British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
