Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the area, producing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.
